Design Legends. Dieter Rams
The legendary master of simplicity. (1932)
Chief designer at Braun from 1962 to 1995, Rams had a profound influence on what became known as the Braun style — a philosophy of functional minimalism. Many of the products he created in the second half of the 20th century continue to inspire new generations of designers even decades later.
The beauty of Rams’s work lay in comfort, simplicity, and clarity. He saw every product as part of a coherent system, objects that could stand alone yet complement each other perfectly.
Rams proved that a designer doesn’t just shape the surface of things but defines how people interact with them. His products could stay unobtrusive when not in use and become a natural part of life when they were. Functional minimalism at its finest.

He’s amazing. His works are so honest and clear. Only an ignorant person wouldn’t appreciate Rams’ achievements.
